چکیده
So far, the possibility of synthesizing hydrogels based on multiple biopolymers has been investigated, and among them lignin proven to be one potentials for this purpose due advantages it offers. However, because its high molecular weight, steric hindrance few reactive sites structure, is sometimes necessary improve reactivity though chemical modifications. On basis previous results, two modifications were selected in order enhance almond, walnut commercial alkaline organosolv lignins' reactivity: a peroxidation reaction ones hydroxymethylation ones. Both reactions confirmed by techniques (i.e. FTIR, GPC TGA). Hydrogels synthesized from these lignins according works. The waste suggested that despite modification lignins, just highest weight fractions reacted with matrix polymer. Moreover, swelling capacity modified lignin-based was negatively affected, whereas samples improved. SEM micrographs explained aforementioned, results DSC compression tests accordance them. Self-extracted quercetin loading release studies could used controlled drug delivery.

A novel crosslinked hydrogel was prepared from sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) using ammonium persulfate as an initiator and methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinker for drug delivery. The chemical structure of the copolymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, and the morphology was observed under scanning elec...
متن کاملDrug delivery applications for superporous hydrogels.
INTRODUCTION Considerable advances have been made to hydrogels with the development of faster swelling superporous hydrogels (SPHs). These new-generation hydrogels have large numbers of interconnected pores, giving them the capacity to absorb large amounts of water at an accelerated rate. This gives SPHs the ability to be used in a variety of novel drug delivery applications, such as gastric re...

متن کاملOn the interaction of lignin peroxidase with lignin
The mechanism by which lignin peroxidase (Lip) interacts with the lignin polymer is discussed. Veratryl alcohol (Valc), a secondary metabolite of white rot fungi, acts as a cofactor for the enzyme. The Lip-redox cycle is discussed in terms of Marcus theory of electron transfer. It is proposed that reaction of a nucleophile in the active site channel with the incipient Valc'. is an essential eve...
متن کاملHydrogels for Hydrophobic Drug Delivery. Classification, Synthesis and Applications
Hydrogels have been shown to be very useful in the field of drug delivery due to their high biocompatibility and ability to sustain delivery. Therefore, the tuning of their properties should be the focus of study to optimise their potential. Hydrogels have been generally limited to the delivery of hydrophilic drugs. However, as many of the new drugs coming to market are hydrophobic in nature, n...
